The Second Sea is a major milestone in Blox Fruits — a larger, more dangerous world with new islands, stronger enemies, new quests, and exclusive fruits. Getting there requires completing several in-game tasks in the First Sea.
Requirements to Enter the Second Sea
Reach Level 700
You must be at least Level 700 to travel to the Second Sea. Focus on grinding quests in the late First Sea zones to hit this requirement.
Choose Your Alignment
Speak with the Military Detective in the Prison or the Pirate Village and select your side: Marine or Pirate. Both sides can access the Second Sea.
Complete the Awakening Quest
Defeat the Darkbeard boss to obtain the Dark Fragment, then speak with the Dark King NPC to unlock passage to the Second Sea.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Reach Level 700 — Grind in the highest-level First Sea zones. The Magma Village and Ice Castle areas are best for this range.
- Defeat Darkbeard — Darkbeard spawns at the Fountain City area in the First Sea. He is a Level 1000 boss, so join a group of high-level players. Darkbeard spawns every 2 hours and 45 minutes (server time).
- Get the Dark Fragment — Darkbeard drops the Dark Fragment needed to advance the quest. Each player who damages him has a chance to receive the drop.
- Talk to the Dark King — The Dark King NPC is located near the Prison zone. Speak to him with the Dark Fragment in your inventory to receive the quest to travel to the Second Sea.
- Travel to the Starter Marine or Starter Pirate island in the Second Sea — Follow the quest marker to the portal/boat location and confirm your travel.
Tip — Defeating Darkbeard: Darkbeard is one of the hardest bosses in the First Sea. Use a server where other players are also farming him — you don't have to deal the killing blow to get the loot, just deal enough damage. Bring full stat points into your main combat style before attempting this fight.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I go back to the First Sea?
Yes. You can travel between seas using the Ferry boat at any main island. Your progress in both seas is saved separately.
Do I lose my items when I travel?
No. All your Fruits, stats, items, and Robux-purchased game passes carry over between seas. Only your active quest resets when you switch islands.
