The Ghoul Race is one of the rarest and most powerful races in Blox Fruits. Unlike the four starting races (Human, Mink, Shark, Angel), Ghoul must be unlocked through a specific quest chain. It is not random — you must complete all steps deliberately to obtain it.
Requirements to Unlock the Ghoul Race
Level 1000+
You must be at least Level 1000 to start the Ghoul Race quest. This places it in the late First Sea or early Second Sea progression.
Night Time (In-Game)
The Cursed Ship only appears at night in Blox Fruits. The day/night cycle lasts approximately 20 minutes — wait for night to proceed.
100 Ectoplasm
You need 100 Ectoplasm to trade for the Ghoul Race. Ectoplasm is dropped by the Cursed Captain and other enemies on the Cursed Ship.
Step-by-Step Guide to Get the Ghoul Race
Step 1 — Reach Level 1000
Grind to at least Level 1000. The Colosseum and Magma Village in the First Sea are good options, or move to the Second Sea if you're already there.
Step 2 — Find the Cursed Ship
The Cursed Ship only appears at night. Look for it near the Forgotten Island in the First Sea. The ship glows with a ghostly effect and is visible from a distance at night. If it's daytime, wait for the night cycle (roughly 10 minutes from any given time).
Step 3 — Defeat Enemies on the Cursed Ship
Board the Cursed Ship and defeat the enemies there — particularly the Cursed Captain boss who drops Ectoplasm. Collect 100 Ectoplasm total. Each run can drop between 5–15 Ectoplasm depending on enemies defeated.
Step 4 — Find the Cursed Captain NPC
After collecting enough Ectoplasm, speak to the Cursed Captain NPC (separate from the boss enemy) on the ship at night. He offers the "Curse of Ghoul" exchange: 100 Ectoplasm for the Ghoul Race.
Step 5 — Confirm the Race Change
Accept the trade. Your race will immediately change to Ghoul. Note: changing to Ghoul replaces your current race — you cannot keep your previous race bonuses while using Ghoul.
Important: You can change your race back by visiting the Tort NPC (using a Race Reroll item) at the Second Sea. However, to get Ghoul again you must repeat the entire quest. Keep Ghoul if you intend to keep it — don't experiment casually.
Ghoul Race Bonuses
- Life Drain: Every hit you land heals you for a percentage of the damage dealt — extremely powerful for sustained combat
- Ghoul Form (V2): After unlocking Race V2, Ghoul's transformation boosts all stats and increases healing from Life Drain
- Night passive: Ghoul is stronger at night in-game — stat bonuses are higher during the night cycle
- Great for PvP: The healing-on-hit mechanic makes Ghoul very hard to kill in extended 1v1 fights
